Annual celebration of May Gibbs’ birthday 

May Gibbs was born on 17 January, 1877.

May Gibbs was a passionate lover of Scotty dogs; she had at least one as a companion during most of her time living at Nutcote. They regularly featured in her illustrations and later in her stories. 

To celebrate her birthday each year we hold a special event where we welcome the public as well as all Scotty dogs and their owners to join in this annual celebration at Nutcote.  

Due to the Sydney forecast of heavy rain and wild weather for Sunday January 18th, we have decided to postpone May's birthday celebration.

We hope this one week postponement will still mean our furry friends can join us and their humans will be much happier out of the rain! This is the long weekend so we understand some of you may be away but if not we do hope you can make it.

On this day all Scottish Terriers are invited to bring along their human friends. One human is permitted free of charge for each dog.

Non dog owners are also invited to join the celebrations and enjoy the garden full of pups. There will be specials from the cafe including birthday cupcakes and scones. This is a fantastic day to visit Nutcote at no extra cost to the regular ticket price, and join in the celebrations.
