Friends of Nutcote
The Friends of Nutcote group was established initially to raise funds to ‘save Nutcote for the Nation’ when the House was under threat of demolition in the early 1980s. Today, the Friends of Nutcote support the Nutcote Trust in its work to celebrate the life and works of May Gibbs. Through the hard work and generosity of our members, changes happen. All our volunteers are Friends of Nutcote.
Friends of Nutcote enjoy a range of benefits including free entry to the House Museum and Gardens whenever Nutcote is open to the public and are invited to attend special events. A 20% discount is provided at our Gift Shop and Tea Room and Friends can also take advantage of a 10% discount at Thelma and Louise cafe at Neutral Bay Wharf and special offers from The Ensemble Theatre. Friends also receive The Nutcote News, published three times a year. Friends have the opportunity to participate in excursions and Friends-only events. Friends also raise money to support specific endeavours such as the purchase of May Gibbs first editions, quality facsimiles of May Gibbs’ work and dedicated thermostatically and humidity-controlled display cases to House the Nutcote collection.
Friends can play an even greater role in supporting the work of the Nutcote Trust by giving donations in addition to membership fees. ‘Benefactors ’ are Friends who have donated more than $1,000.
